Having a way to neatly organize materials such as pens, books, standards-based games, art supplies, Play-Doh, and posters, is so important for smooth transitions from group to group and station to station. Using Play-Doh when doing \"phonics work\" has made even my most reluctant readers eager to learn. My scholars have really loved being able to have a choice during writing time of using the colored pens instead of pencils. I have never seen these scholars so enthusiastic about writing time! \r\nThe new books are probably the biggest hit. The variety of genres and reading levels has really piqued the interest of my super scholars. You can see it on their faces in the photographs. They enjoy gathering together at the carpet to read near friends, practicing their reading stamina, then sharing with a partner what they read about or learned that day.
