Class was able to start smoothly because everyone had access to all the supplies they needed. We established some beneficial routines to borrowing and returning pencils and students were able to hold themselves accountable for simple tasks like wiping down tables and borrowing supplies.\r\n\r\nWe were able to use the highlighters for critiquing and editing peer work, giving students a visual cue for corrections they can make. Paints helped us tremendously for our first show of the year. My students took on the bulk of scene design and brought their visions to live with these acrylics. \r\n\r\nCard stock will remain a trusty friend throughout the year as we work on various art projects. Coming up, my students will be making their own visual ads using Aristotle's modes of persuasion.\r\n\r\nIt's difficult to describe everything these supplies have offered for my classroom and my students because the smallest things have made the biggest impact in day-to-day learning. As a teacher, it meant a lot to recognize and celebrate my students' hard work with special awards. Your donations provided my students with the opportunity to put their improv skills into action, as well as creating an original theatre piece. \r\n\r\nMy students were ecstatic to see their vision come to life as we transformed the school library into a mansion of the creepiest proportions! They helped me hang cobwebs across the bookcases, gauze over the entrance and turn a normal door into a secret bookcase passage. \r\n\r\nThis show is something that my students can be proud of for years to come. It sold out and the audience was extremely engaged with the character interactions. Your continued support of our small program is beyond appreciated by all of us at Mann.
