With Arizona's extreme heat, especially during the late summer and early fall, indoor recess becomes a regular necessity. Thanks to you, our students now have fun, engaging options to keep them active, social, and happy even when it's too hot to go outside.\r\n\r\nThe new games have brought so much excitement and joy to our classroom. Students are learning to cooperate, strategize, take turns, and even practice a little friendly competition — all while staying cool and safe indoors. This has helped my students in small group grow in their reading skills and most of them will now be able to continue on to 3rd grade. \r\nAs for the math activities it is the same. We have had so much fun and hands-on learning with the materials purchased over the past few months!\r\n\r\nFollowing our unit on technology, students were able to build their very own robot bug using the coin batteries, mini motors, sticky tape and clothes pins. They were so excited the moment they connected all the wires and felt the vibration as their very own robot bug began to move and wiggle. They erupted in laughter as the bugs spun in circles, and some bugs zoomed so fast they almost fell off the edge of the table. \r\n\r\nWe have frequently used the magna-tiles for open ended STEM creations during our free play time, as well as more structured activities. They couldn't wait to try them out. A lot of students immediately wanted to sit on the tree logs for reading time, and they loved how comfy and cool they looked.
