To the minds of school children, recess time is their "favorite time of the day" when they can take time out from concentrated instructions inside the classroom and be in their best moment to play freely with peers. My students want to play different games and activities but we only have limited play equipment at the moment.
As an educator, I see the importance of children playing during recess time as it will promote balance between rigid mental activities and keep them physically healthy.
Moreover, the interaction of my students during recess time through playing will develop their social skills, foster camaraderie and a sense of empathy and build conflict resolution skills even at their young age. The different playground equipment will surely benefit my students' social, mental, and physical well being.
This call for assistance comes from my own vision to see all students participating in games during recess time while also embracing diversity. With a well-balanced journey in academics and light sports, they will return to the classroom more focused and eager to learn.
