Our students are currently working together to assemble these computers, learning how the components connect and discovering what goes into building a functional computer. Instead of simply using technology that someone else has assembled, they are gaining firsthand experience with the hardware that makes it all possible.\r\n\r\nOnce assembled, these Raspberry Pi computers will serve as dedicated Linux coding stations in our STEM classroom. Students will explore a new operating system, practice programming, troubleshoot technical challenges, and develop a deeper understanding of how hardware and software work together. Many students are familiar with using Chromebooks, but few have had the opportunity to assemble a computer or experiment with an operating system beyond what they use every day. These new learning stations will provide opportunities for collaboration, creativity, critical thinking, and hands-on problem-solving that extend well beyond traditional classroom assignments.\r\n\r\nWhat makes your contribution especially meaningful is its lasting impact. Prior to the students just putting their Student Council Materials away, they had to brainstorm what they wanted to use the containers for and how they were going to implement their organization. The students then had to clean out their cabinets and start organizing what the materials were (concessions, paint, lanyards, Holiday decorations, and spirit week).
