These books will allow students to choose books that challenge and excite them. I want to foster a climate of literacy that includes students becoming responsible for their own reading. These books are high interest and grade level appropriate. Students will be able to choose books that can meet their needs both mentally and emotionally. Every child should be immersed in a world full of different types of reading and writing styles. Sixth grade is a crucial year when students either take a love of learning with them or drop it for other things. We must help them hold on to the love of learning! Students who read more do better in school.
