One of our favorite classroom moments was when a few students created a \"Fridge Team\" chart to rotate responsibilities for checking the temperature and wiping down the shelves. They love having this sense of responsibility and teamwork.\r\nWhen the fridge arrived, the students were so excited! They gathered around to help unpack it and plug it in, and several immediately started planning what healthy snacks they could bring to keep inside. Their faces lit up when they realized it meant they could have fresh fruit, yogurt, and other foods that used to spoil by lunchtime. It was such a simple addition, but it truly made them feel cared for and supported.\r\nRight now, we're working on a life skills and nutrition unit. The mini fridge is helping students apply what they've learned about food safety and healthy eating. In the coming weeks, we'll be practicing meal planning and prepping simple, nutritious snacks. As the year continues my students will continuously use the notebooks as we do guided notes together within them together.
