Most of my students never get to travel far from their homes in Phoenix, AZ. Many of them take French in order to become trilingual. Reading is one of the best ways to learn vocabulary and reading in another language helps students improve their reading ability in their native language. I plan to offer these books as part of a reading library so that students can choose interesting materials that will allow them to improve their reading skills as well as to develop an interest in reading that will carry over to other subjects. I also teach them about culture - and food is a big part of French culture! Each year we make crepes - but the griddles I have are old and don't heat up properly. I need to replace them so that every student has the chance to make a crepe in a single class period.
