It has been a true blessing to us all knowing they don't have to worry about being hungry when they leave my classroom.\r\n\r\nUpon receiving the snacks, my students were surprised, lit up with happiness and got even more excited each time they saw a new box of snacks arriving in our classroom. They are so humble and appreciative of each snack they receive each day.\r\n\r\nScience has been fun for my students, but learning to read and doing math at grade level is a struggle. We are now working on decoding words and addition in small group to help get them on grade level. Part of small group learning is having the materials needed to meet the students where they are with hands-on learning. We are currently working on a project to get a color printer and ink in order to print out these materials in order for them to become even more successful in their goals.","fullyFundedDate":1754242424618,"projectUrl":"project/we-are-starving-part-1/9494793/","projectTitle":"We are Starving! Many of them expressed excitement and curiosity, often eagerly asking if they could try different items. This initial enthusiasm not only helped break the ice but also fostered a sense of community among them. I believe that sharing snacks can create a bonding experience; it encourages collaboration and conversation, which enhances the overall learning experience.\r\n\r\nFrom my perspective, incorporating snacks into the classroom can also help address the needs of students who may come to school hungry. Providing a small snack can help them focus better on their studies, as hunger can be a significant distraction. In my own experience, I've noticed that students who have a little something to eat are more attentive and engaged during lessons.\r\n\r\nUsing snacks in the classroom has proven to be an effective strategy for enhancing student engagement and creating a welcoming environment. The positive reactions from my students reinforce the importance of considering their needs and interests, ultimately contributing to a more productive learning experience.","fullyFundedDate":1746125299983,"projectUrl":"project/we-are-hungry/9277091/","projectTitle":"We are hungry!!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Amanda","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8109906_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1736913188773","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8109906"},{"teacherId":2372409,"projectId":9173324,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your continued support in my classroom. With these books, I will not only be able to nurture their love of reading but also provide them with the tools they need to become confident, lifelong readers.\r\n\r\nMy students were excited to see books when opening the boxes because we have been struggling to get new and diverse books for them to read on their level.
