My students get so excited if I even mention the possibility of using technology! Since our two classroom computers are being surplused, my students will not have regular access to computers to learn basic technology skills. With the addition of laptops to the classroom, they will be able to practice their iStation, learn computer skills, supplement their learning, and provide a new modality of learning for all types of learners. The laptops will be less bulky in the classroom where space is already limited. It will also allow them to take the laptops around to work in different areas of the class, another great perk for restless 5 year olds! In all, I feel the addition of laptops to our classroom will benefit the students greatly and encourage them to take charge of their learning.
