It has truly made such a big difference in our classroom, and my second graders absolutely love everything you helped provide!\r\nWe've been using the games every time we have indoor recess, and it has completely changed the vibe of that time. Instead of students feeling stuck inside with nothing to do, they now have so many fun and engaging options to choose from. They get excited to pick out games, work together, and just enjoy being kids. It's been amazing to see how something as simple as having the right activities can turn indoor recess into such a positive and happy part of our day.\r\nOne of my favorite moments was watching a group of students play a board game together for the first time. At first, they were still figuring out the rules, but quickly they started helping each other, taking turns, and even cheering each other on. It was so great to see them practicing teamwork and patience without even realizing it. Another group immediately jumped into some of the hands-on activities and started building and creating together. They were so proud of what they made and couldn't wait to show me and their classmates.\r\nWhen the materials first arrived, the excitement was through the roof! There were big smiles, lots of \"oohs\" and \"ahhs,\" and so many questions about when they could start playing. It honestly felt like a mini celebration in our classroom. Even students who sometimes struggle during less structured times were completely engaged and eager to participate. That moment really showed me how much these resources were needed.\r\nSince then, I've noticed such a positive impact. Students are not only having fun, but they're also building important skills like sharing, communication, problem-solving, and working through small challenges together. I've even seen new friendships forming because of these games, which has been really special to watch.\r\nLooking ahead, we're excited to keep using these games in more ways. I plan to bring some of them into small group time and use them as fun rewards or brain breaks throughout the day. The students are also starting to take more ownership by helping set up, clean up, and even explain the games to each other, which has been great for building confidence and responsibility.\r\nThank you again for your kindness and generosity. You've truly brought so much joy, laughter, and connection into our classroom. My students love these games, and I'm so grateful for the impact they're having each and every day!","fullyFundedDate":1770828921032,"projectUrl":"project/stem-indoor-recess-building-thinkers-th/9880159/","projectTitle":"STEM Indoor Recess: Building Thinkers Through Play!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Henriquez","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8416248_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1651972411210","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mrs-henriquez"},{"teacherId":3809545,"projectId":9979564,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous support of our Lunar New Year project. Because of your kindness, my students were able to experience this cultural celebration in a meaningful and memorable way.\r\n\r\nDuring our activities, students explored the traditions and symbolism of Lunar New Year through literature and hands-on learning. We read a story about the holiday that introduced important themes such as family, renewal, and good fortune. This sparked thoughtful discussions and helped students build cultural awareness and appreciation.\r\n\r\nOne of the highlights of our celebration was learning how to use chopsticks. Students eagerly practiced this new skill, turning it into a fun challenge that also strengthened their fine motor coordination and perseverance. Their excitement and laughter filled the classroom as they encouraged one another and celebrated small successes.\r\n\r\nTo conclude our learning, students received chocolate coins placed inside traditional red envelopes. This simple yet meaningful activity helped them understand the symbolism of wishing prosperity and good luck to others. It was a joyful moment that allowed students to connect what they learned to an authentic tradition.\r\n\r\nYour donation created an engaging, inclusive experience that broadened my students' perspectives and fostered curiosity about cultures around the world.
