I cannot emphasize enough the impact of your donation and the gratitude I have for your support in the work of teaching and inspiring young minds. \r\n\r\nI want you to know that your donation to my classroom has had a huge impact on student growth and support. With the new multisensory toys I am able to provide a \"calm corner\" with a variety of options to help students regulate and get back to a state where they can learn. In a school with high rates of trauma, behavioral needs, and social-emotional needs this has been a key part of supporting students. I have been working with one student in particular who has significant mental-health needs. She is now working to earn a break with me each day where she can find peace and play, create, and learn. She gets so excited to earn her time and has been more focused and motivated in class because of it. \r\n\r\nIn addition, the snacks and prizes have supported my students reading as they work to earn them based on reading growth and achievement. The majority of students I am working with are on track to grade-level reading by the end of the year and all of them have demonstrated growth in phonics, fluency, and/or comprehension. These extra incentives go a long way when helping students to buy-in and stay focused on their goals. Thank you for your contribution to my classroom!
