The resources allowed me to design lessons that fostered both conceptual understanding and hands-on learning opportunities.\r\nWhen the students got the opportunity to unpack the supplies themselves, their eyes lit up in excitement for the joy that was to come. They immediately wanted to get the projects started and have been very diligent with caring for the plants. The students have successfully harvested Oregano and Sage that they have brought home and shared with their families. \r\nWith the support of these materials, I was able to dedicate more time to guiding students in critical thinking and experimentation around sustainable growing methods, rather than spending extensive time on resource creation. This support greatly improved my teaching effectiveness and helped boost student enthusiasm and confidence in exploring hydroponics.","fullyFundedDate":1758237806206,"projectUrl":"project/learning-with-a-purpose/9553001/","projectTitle":"Learning With a Purpose","teacherDisplayName":"Dr. Miller","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp4478409_orig.png?crop=386,386,x0,y97&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1733338361492","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/4478409"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_126596","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":563,"numTeachers":13,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":48,"percentWhite":36,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":5,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"43.3:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"TOWN","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_FRINGE"},"inStateSupporters":40.7,"schoolId":126596,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Bay Road Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Bay Road Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/south-carolina/darlington-county-school-district/west-hartsville-elementary-school/126596"}
