It is undeniable that technology is impacting the world around us and that those impacts will only be greater with time. In early childhood education, we are establishing the foundation for students to become successful in whatever they set out to do in life. In order for us to be most effective, we must teach them many things that may not always be within the traditional curriculum. My students are currently at a disadvantage because of their limited access to technology, despite having to take the same standardized test as those students with unlimited resources. My goal is to bridge this gap for my students. Technology helps to make a big world seem just a little smaller. The technology I will purchase with this project will provide my students with an opportunity to enhance their experience with the curriculum. My class is beyond blessed to have received approval for a grant that will be used to place six iPads in my classroom as well as pens for those iPads. This will create a 1:3 iPad to student ratio for my students. To allow for this technology to be fully supported within my room, as well as be protected for future classes, we need a safe place to store and charge these devices. The materials I plan to purchase by seeking your donation will also protect these devices during their day to day use, allowing me to use this project to create long term impacts within these children’s future.
