My students were so excited when they first saw all of the new math materials and could hardly wait to start using them. We are using the manipulatives, games, and hands-on tools during daily lessons, small groups, and math centers. One of my favorite moments has been watching students use the materials to actually build and model math problems instead of simply working them on paper.\r\n\r\nAs we continue through second grade, students will use these resources to strengthen their skills in place value, addition and subtraction, money, time, measurement, and geometry. Our next steps are to continue using these tools to move from hands-on practice toward solving problems independently.
