Many students who were unsure about reading longer chapter books have become eager readers because the books are funny, fast-paced, and filled with comic-style illustrations that make them feel confident. Adding the series to our classroom library has also increased independent reading time. Students often recommend their favorite book in the series to each other, which has created a stronger reading community. Here they also learn when they have enough or need to save for the product they want. \r\n\r\nSeeing the items for the store is a big incentive for students to choose and think what positive actions can they display to earn money. \r\n\r\nThis leads to a sense of community also, because we hold whole school events that families are also allowed to join to promote why we are doing PBIS in our school.
