The pencils, Expo markers, whiteboard cleaner, Bluetooth speaker, pens, and graphing calculator have already made a meaningful difference in our classroom.\r\n\r\nMath is a subject where we *work things out*—a lot! We go through an incredible number of Expo markers because so much of our learning happens at the whiteboard. We solve equations, work through examples step-by-step, graph, make corrections, and practice new skills together. Having a good supply of markers means I can continue modeling problems and giving students opportunities to work through them without constantly worrying about running out.\r\n\r\nPencils are another everyday necessity in a math classroom. My students use them constantly to take notes, complete assignments, practice problems, and show their work. These simple supplies are used up quickly, but they are essential to our daily learning.\r\n\r\nThe pens and graphing calculator have been especially helpful to me as the teacher. I use the pens for grading and providing feedback on student work, and the graphing calculator is a valuable tool when I am preparing lessons, checking problems, and making sure I can clearly explain concepts and solutions to my students.\r\n\r\nThe whiteboard cleaner is also something we desperately needed because our whiteboards get a LOT of use throughout the day. Keeping them clean and ready for the next lesson helps our classroom run smoothly. The Bluetooth speaker has been a fun addition as well, giving me another way to incorporate audio into lessons and classroom activities.\r\n\r\nThese supplies may seem simple, but they are the everyday tools that keep a classroom functioning and allow me to focus on what matters most—teaching my students. This technology has already made a meaningful difference in the way I teach and interact with my students each day.\r\n\r\nI use the iPad to cast my notes and math problems onto the TV screen at the front of my classroom. This allows my students to clearly follow along as I explain new concepts and work through problems step-by-step. But one of the biggest benefits has been the freedom it gives me to move around the classroom while I teach.\r\n\r\nInstead of being tied to the front of the room while working through an example, I can now walk around, check students' work, answer questions, and see who may need a little extra help—all while continuing to work the problem on the screen for the entire class to see. This has made my lessons much more interactive and has helped me stay connected to what my students are doing in real time.\r\n\r\nFor my 6th and 7th grade math students, being able to see each step of a problem as we work through it together is so important.
