COVID-19 has been a difficult obstacle for students to overcome, particularly high school students who rely on school for social gatherings and escape from home life. Now that we're back in school, you can still see the effects of having to stay home on the students. They need to have something to feel excited about, a light at the end of the tunnel. For almost 2 years, we've only been able to say "no" due to having to social distance and resort to virtual learning. I want to be able to say "yes" to my students and give them opportunities to grow in this field, regardless of them coming from a lower income area. By having better equipment, my students will be able to gain real world experience and have quality work for their portfolios when they apply for college programs. These students are so resilient and hard-working. A pandemic didn't hold them back; lack of quality equipment shouldn't hold them back either.
