My students have a wide range of individual needs, and learning how to recognize and communicate their emotions, regulate themselves, solve problems, and build positive relationships is an important part of helping them be successful both in and outside of the classroom. Having a structured curriculum gives us the opportunity to intentionally teach and practice these skills instead of only addressing them when a difficult situation occurs.\r\n\r\nI am especially excited to give my students engaging, age-appropriate lessons and activities that help make these important skills easier to understand and apply to their everyday lives. For many of my students, skills such as identifying emotions, using coping strategies, appropriately expressing their needs, and working through frustration require direct instruction and repeated practice. This curriculum will give us the tools and consistency needed to build those skills in a supportive environment.\r\n\r\nThank you for investing in my students and recognizing that their social and emotional growth is just as important as their academic growth.
