These materials will make a difference in my class by allowing students to put sounds together to create a word and make sentences in class. Our focus is to help students learn how to read CVC/CVCe words in school to help them be successful in reading. We will be using Alphabet Sounds Teaching Tubs in small groups to help students be confident in their sounds when reading CVC words. Early Skills Game Library will help students read each sound and help them read the word correctly. Students who struggle will take this notebook home and practice with their parents. Math activities will be a great resource to help the students identify their numbers and put math sentences together. For example, having Comparing Numbers Flip Solve Board will help students identify numbers combine numbers to make addition and subtraction problems.
We will be using Word Family Flip Books in small groups. Students will be sounding out each word and then sharing with their partners about the word they've read. Once we have shared, each student will read their word to the whole group.
All my students will be excited to receive hands-on activities to help them read and learn addition and subtraction! What other fun way to learn than to have different objects in the class, such as the buzzer pen! They will have a blast with this pen! It can help our students know if they read the word correctly or did the equation problem correctly! Our students do not have a lot of opportunities to have educational objects at home! This will be a great way to bring it into their education!
I can’t wait to see their reactions when they can do this independently!
