Our sports equipment is now being properly shelved, and it provides me with easy access to retrieve and gather what is necessary for lessons.\r\n\r\nStudents love the new Granny Pants game as they can put on these rather large pants and toss inflated balls into the pants and then scurry to the finish line. There has been much humor and joy observed with this new silly equipment through our focused physical activities. \r\n\r\nOur Keiki strive confidently ahead with enthusiasm and aspirations through your generous contribution and the growth of our physical education program. The new books and calming stuffed animals have made a remarkable difference in how my students experience reading each day.\r\n\r\nMany of our donors love to read (we do, too!), but may not always see the behind-the-scenes work that goes into helping young readers grow. With the addition of these new texts, students are practicing important skills such as identifying story elements, making predictions, expanding vocabulary, and building reading stamina. Several of the books also lend themselves beautifully to social-emotional lessons—like recognizing feelings, understanding empathy, and connecting with characters—which has been especially impactful when paired with the calming stuffed animals.\r\n\r\nIn our classroom, reading time has become a peaceful, inviting ritual. Students choose a cozy spot, often with a stuffed animal by their side, and dive into their books with a level of focus and comfort I hadn't seen before. The stuffed animals have helped create a sense of emotional safety, allowing students to settle in more quickly and engage more deeply with their reading.\r\n\r\nSome students who once struggled to stay focused during independent reading are now among the most enthusiastic participants. One student in particular, who often felt anxious during quiet work time, now begins reading by hugging a stuffed animal and proudly shares what they've discovered in their book. Another student who had difficulty choosing books now eagerly explores the new titles, excited to find stories that match their interests.\r\n\r\nYour generosity has done more than provide classroom materials—it has given my students tools for confidence, calm, and curiosity. We've already begun using them during our math centers and small-group instruction, and the students are engaging with the materials in a way that makes learning feel both purposeful and fun. The games give them a chance to practice skills through play, while the workbooks allow them to build independence and confidence as they work through problems at their own pace.\r\n\r\nWhen my students first saw the new materials, they were incredibly excited. Many of them immediately wanted to try the games, and the workbooks sparked a sense of ownership—students loved having resources that felt \"just for them.\" Their enthusiasm has truly shifted the atmosphere in our classroom.\r\n\r\nThese math resources will continue to support us as we move into upcoming lessons. Students are beginning to use the games to reinforce new skills, and the workbooks will help guide them through our next units with more structure and clarity. The reading and writing workbooks you helped provide have already made a meaningful impact on my students' learning.\r\n\r\nWhen the workbooks arrived, my students were so excited—they could hardly believe they each had their own books to work in! Many of them hugged the workbooks and immediately started flipping through the pages, eager to get started. For some of my students, this was the very first time they had personal learning materials that weren't just photocopies or shared resources.\r\n\r\nWe're now using the workbooks daily during our literacy block. One of the most powerful moments so far came during a writing assignment on personal narratives. Using the workbook's guided structure, one student who typically struggles with writing was able to organize their thoughts clearly and confidently write a full paragraph for the first time this year. They proudly read it aloud to the class—and the whole room cheered!\r\n\r\nThese resources have boosted not only skills, but also confidence and independence. Right now, we're working on a unit focused on storytelling and descriptive writing. The next step for my students is to take the tools and techniques they've been practicing in the workbooks and apply them to writing their own short stories, which we plan to publish into a class book.\r\n\r\nThanks to you, my students are more engaged, motivated, and better equipped to grow as readers and writers.
