Reading in our classroom is a dynamic, active experience where students don't just look at pages but decode, discuss, and connect with the text. These new books have infused our daily reading blocks with a brand-new wave of excitement. When the boxes arrived, the students were eager to see the titles, and they couldn't wait to get their hands on them. Having a fresh, high-quality selection of texts has completely revitalized our independent reading time and our group instruction.\r\n\r\nWith these new texts, we are introducing critical literacy skills that form the foundation for lifelong reading success. Beyond just enjoying the stories, my students are using these books to practice explicit phonetic decoding, build vocabulary, and master comprehension strategies like summarizing and predicting. For our younger and developing readers, having access to books that align perfectly with their growing skills allows them to practice sound-spelling patterns in context, turning abstract phonics rules into real-world reading victories.\r\n\r\nThere are a few particular students who have truly blossomed because of these new books. One of my students, who previously struggled to stay engaged during independent reading time, spent an entire period completely absorbed in one of our new titles, proudly pointing out words they could decode on their own. Seeing that spark of confidence and pure joy of discovery is exactly why these resources are so vital. Your support has given my students the tools they need to build confidence and develop a genuine, lasting love for reading.","fullyFundedDate":1764711524750,"projectUrl":"project/the-boundless-bookshelf/9895381/","projectTitle":"The Boundless Bookshelf!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Cox","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10182296_orig.png?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1755359834217","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10182296"},{"teacherId":10182296,"projectId":9895321,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your incredible generosity in bringing our project, \"Where We Learn and Grow!\", to life. When the large package arrived, my students were absolutely bursting with excitement. They gathered around as we unrolled our brand-new classroom rug, and their faces completely lit up. A few of them immediately began touching the soft texture, and one student even cheered, \"It feels like a real living room!\" They couldn't wait to find their own designated spots on the vibrant new design, and it has completely transformed the energy in our room from day one.\r\n\r\nThis rug has become the absolute heart of our daily routine. We use it every single morning for our community circle, and it serves as our dedicated gathering space for interactive read-alouds and explicit phonics lessons. Having a comfortable, defined space has done wonders for my students' focus and engagement; they are much more anchored and ready to learn when they are gathered together on the carpet rather than sitting at their desks. During a recent reading lesson, I watched them turn to their partners to practice blending sounds, comfortably sitting cross-legged on the new rug, and I was filled with gratitude for the collaborative environment your gift has fostered.\r\n\r\nMoving forward, this rug will continue to support our growing readers as we transition into more intensive, small-group collaboration and interactive storytelling projects. It provides the perfect physical foundation for our students to build confidence, share their ideas, and truly learn and grow together every single day.
