A carpet will give a defined area for morning meeting. During morning meeting, we create a classroom climate and community of learners. We will be able to sit in a circle on the carpet and play interactive games to get to know each other better. Students will be able to use the carpet during independent reading and shared reading. The carpet will be used often during reading instruction and also during work time. It gives a nice area for students to gather to work together or read independently. It offers flexible sitting, so students will not always have to sit in a chair.
