It was so heartwarming to see them flip through the blank pages with big smiles, already imagining what they would create.\r\n\r\nWe've already put the supplies to use in our first lessons, including exploring graffiti-inspired name designs and warm-up drawing activities. The sketchbooks have given students the freedom to take risks, try new techniques, and express themselves without fear of making mistakes. They're learning that every sketch, scribble, and experiment is an important step in the creative process.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, students will continue to use their sketchbooks as a foundation for future projects, from planning out paintings to experimenting with color and design. The students went to gather insects for their bug hotel and then flew their kites outside after decorating them.\r\n\r\nThe students were excited and grateful for the various crafts and materials. They enjoyed the backpacks and summer buckets the most. They each got a gift to enjoy during their summer break with their families.
