They are so grateful that our 'classroom pantry' got an upgrade. I purchased a new set of plastic drawers so we no longer have our snacks out in the open in boxes. As soon as it was set up, scholars started buzzing, talking about the new snacks. Each scholar was able to take a snack home that day. The next day was a two-hour delay due to weather in PA, and on those days our school does not provide breakfast-- which means hungry scholars. The poptarts and granola bars were consumed for breakfast. This meant my kids were able to focus on their learning, not a grumbly belly. As a teacher, there is no better feeling than knowing I am providing what my scholars need so that they can better focus on their learning. I am very grateful for the extreme generosity of this funding opportunity. I was able to give all 60 scholars a gift bag with the items you funded. In full transparency, there was a snag. The socks were out of stock, so I replaced them with gloves for everyone. Your donation actually impacted 120 scholars, not just 60. \r\n\r\nMy 5th graders were so excited to receive these gifts. Immediately they started creating with the two bags of air dry clay. Into the new year, many have been using their new erasable pens and invisible ink pens for their math work- which brings new excitement and enthusiasm to math. I'm so grateful for the Teachers Pay Teachers gift card- as just recently, my scholars showed an interest in pixel art, and I was able to purchase a pixel art bundle related to what we are learning in class. \r\n\r\nThe white board markers have saved me a lot of my own money this year, as these are materials we use daily in math class and for small groups. These help me reduce waste and reuse materials from class to class and year to year, because I can make one copy, put it in a page protector. Then scholars can use the white board markers on them and it can be wiped off.\r\n\r\nThe card-stock has allowed my scholars to make their own cards for the 24 game, and the plastic envelopes help us stay organized.
