Our scholars have spent the last year in either a hybrid teaching model or an all virtual model. It was very challenging to give them a true science lab teaching experience. With the incoming kindergarten and returning first graders, I want to be able to give them a fun experience exploring their senses, diving into the scientific process, and watching how the life cycle works. Science at these early stages is pivotal in our scholars' understanding of many scientific processes. They are able to learn by seeing, asking, and doing hands-on experiments and projects. Seeing how science plays a crucial role in our everyday lives will expand these eager minds and can only push them to success. In the fall, kindergarten scholars will begin by exploring our five senses and use the five senses cube game to check for our understanding of our senses and how we use them every day. Our first graders will learn about force by using magnets to learn about attraction. In the spring, we will dive into learning about the butterfly life cycle by having a butterfly garden and making our own butterfly ornaments.
