I've only had it for about 3 weeks, and I can already see the impact these materials will make in the students' education and growth. Coming from online resources only to using physical materials, it has expanded my ability to engage with my students directly. \r\n\r\nThe doorbell dollhouse, ball drop, pound-a-ball, Mr. Potato Head, car ramp, and rainbow stacking toys are helping me target language development with students who benefit from play-based intervention. Targeting articulation has been more effective using the hand mouth puppet and the mirror in addition to the methods I was previously using. The flashcards not only allow language expansion but allow me to remove technology from our sessions. \r\n\r\nThank you so much again for choosing my students and helping me build my toolbox.","fullyFundedDate":1756249498648,"projectUrl":"project/first-time-slp-building-my-speech-and-l/9623254/","projectTitle":"First-Time Slp: Building My Speech and Language Toolbox","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Bazzano","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10188967_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1756246743691","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10188967"},{"teacherId":9166837,"projectId":7635642,"letterContent":"The excitement in our ESN PreK–5th grade classroom was absolutely contagious! The Kindness Kit quickly became a favorite, giving students hands-on activities to learn about empathy, sharing, and positive social interactions. The sensory items—like the Boinks Fidgets, Wonder Wands, and Wiggle Feet Cushions—have been a game changer for helping students self-regulate and stay engaged during lessons. One memorable moment was during morning circle time when a student who usually struggles to participate was able to stay focused and engaged while holding a fidget, proudly sharing their turn with the group.\r\n\r\nThe Scotch Thermal Laminator and pouches have allowed us to create durable, reusable visual supports, communication boards, and activity cards that meet each student's unique needs. These materials are used daily for both academic and life skills lessons, making learning more accessible and engaging. Our healthy and tasty snacks have also been a wonderful addition—students often choose them as positive reinforcement after completing tasks or participating in activities, creating a joyful and motivating classroom atmosphere.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, we're incorporating these resources into ongoing projects that build both academic and social-emotional skills. For example, we are starting a \"Kindness Counts\" wall where students will earn a spot for showing acts of kindness during the week, using materials from the Kindness Kit to guide discussions and role-play. The sensory tools will continue to be integrated into small group and individual instruction to help each student feel supported and ready to learn. These donations have truly enriched our classroom, making it a more inclusive, engaging, and nurturing environment for every learner.","fullyFundedDate":1692125346532,"projectUrl":"project/happy-regulations/7635642/","projectTitle":"Happy Regulations","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Karlsson","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-9_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9166837"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_79734","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":426,"numTeachers":19,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":1,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":46,"percentIndigenous":9,"percentLatinx":32,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"22.4:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"RURAL","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_DISTANT"},"inStateSupporters":86.7,"schoolId":79734,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Upper Lake Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Upper Lake Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/california/upper-lake-unified-school-district/upper-lake-elementary-school/79734"}
