They LOVE fish, fishing, crawfish...all the sort. So much better!\r\nOur scholars are also often food insecure...and growing wildly! One scholar in my homeroom grew almost four inches this year. Scholars ask for time from their own homeroom in order to come to \"visit the rocks\" and engage with my homeroom. There is English and Spanish. Their eyes lit up when they saw the hydroponic system, immediately asking how plants could grow without soil. That curiosity sparked an impromptu science discussion and inspired several students to start sketching garden plans on the whiteboard before class even ended! Our next step is to start learning about the hydroponic system and connect our garden lessons to nutrition and sustainability. They worked together with an organized plan and a goal.
