Students worked in small groups to design and build ramps using the materials, then tested how different heights and surfaces affected speed and distance. One of my favorite classroom moments was watching students adjust their designs after testing, realizing why their ramp wasn't working, and trying again with excitement and confidence. This project allowed students to think like engineers while connecting their learning to real-world STEM careers. When students first saw the materials, they were immediately excited and curious. They were eager to get started, asking questions and sharing ideas about what they could build, which created a high level of engagement right from the beginning.\r\n\r\nMoving forward, the next steps for my students include improving their ramp designs and explaining their thinking using academic vocabulary related to force and motion. They will also begin documenting their learning by writing about their design process and results. As we continue this lesson, students will explore how engineers solve problems and make improvements over time. These experiences will help build a strong foundation for future STEM learning while supporting our school's goal of becoming STEM certified.","fullyFundedDate":1769177028644,"projectUrl":"project/inspiring-tomorrows-innovators-today/9942537/","projectTitle":"Inspiring Tomorrow’s Innovators Today","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Means","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-7_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9336433"},{"teacherId":795419,"projectId":10162759,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for supporting our DonorsChoose project, \"Packing with a Purpose.\" Because of your generosity, our elementary students now have access to refillable lunchboxes that ensure they are nourished and ready to learn each day.
