Our school is identified as a 2012 Georgia Department of Education Focus School. Focus Schools are identified due to their within school achievement gap between its highest performing subgroup and lowest performing subgroup in the content areas of Reading/English/Language Arts or Math. Our Elementary school's highest performing subgroup(s) are our Asian and Hispanic subgroups; our lowest performing subgroup is our Students With Disabilities (SWD). Within the over 900 students at our school, there is a small percentage of gifted students that show potential for performing at exceptionally high levels compared to others of their age, experience, or environment. I strive to develop and deliver differentiated instruction to these students at levels commensurate with their abilities. It is a pleasure to work with these young, enthusiastic, bright minds!
