These books have given my fifth graders the chance to explore mythology through stories that are exciting, strange, dramatic, and sometimes downright weird, which means they are absolutely perfect for Room 17.\r\n\r\nWe are using these texts to go beyond simply reading a story. Students are learning to identify themes, analyze characters and their choices, make inferences, compare stories, and look at how myths have been used to explain the world and communicate important ideas across cultures. Most importantly, the books have created opportunities for students to talk about what they are reading, ask questions, make connections, and discover that challenging texts can also be genuinely fun.\r\n\r\nThere is something pretty wonderful about watching a student get pulled into a book and suddenly need to tell someone what just happened. Your generosity helped put those moments directly into my students' hands. Thank you for supporting our classroom, encouraging curiosity, and helping my students continue to grow as readers and thinkers. The writing boards are a big hit in the classroom! They provide a fun and stress-free way for my young students to practice correct letter formation and sizing. They can use the stylus to move the tiny marbles into place and then they use their finger to trace the letters. This provides a multi-sensory experience that really helps to solidify their learning.\r\n\r\nYour generosity allows me to provide those \"extras\" that help to make foundational memories in the classroom.
