Your support directly impacts students who receive specialized academic instruction and social-emotional support each day. Because of you, our classroom will be filled with tools that promote engagement, regulation, creativity, and academic growth.\r\n\r\nThe weighted brown bear will provide more than comfort—it will serve as a calming support tool for students who experience anxiety, attention challenges, or sensory processing needs. In an RSP setting, many students benefit from proprioceptive input to help regulate their bodies and focus their attention. Having access to a weighted plush support item allows students to self-soothe, build independence in managing emotions, and return to learning more quickly. This type of resource supports self-regulation without disrupting instruction and helps create a safe, inclusive learning environment.\r\n\r\nThe fidget packs and wacky tracks will also play a critical role in helping students maintain focus during small-group instruction. Many of our learners work hard to sustain attention, manage impulses, and process information simultaneously. Appropriate sensory tools allow students to channel movement in productive ways while continuing to engage in academic tasks. Rather than viewing movement as a distraction, these tools help us embrace it as part of how students learn best.\r\n\r\nThe Play-Doh and 82-piece animal figure set will support hands-on, multi-sensory learning experiences. In RSP instruction, we often incorporate tactile materials to strengthen fine motor skills, vocabulary development, storytelling, and math concepts. Students can build sight words with modeling compound, retell stories using animal figures, practice sorting and categorizing, or engage in sensory bin activities that reinforce academic standards. These materials make learning concrete, engaging, and accessible for diverse learners.\r\n\r\nThe highlighters and tape dispensers may seem simple, but they are essential classroom tools that support organization, executive functioning, and academic skill development. Highlighters help students identify key details in reading passages, break down multi-step math problems, and visually organize information. For students with learning disabilities, visual supports are critical for comprehension. Having classroom supplies readily available ensures students can practice strategies that build independence and confidence.\r\n\r\nYour donations do more than provide materials—they communicate to our students that they are valued, supported, and believed in. Many of our learners face academic challenges that require additional patience, encouragement, and specialized resources. When they see new tools arrive in our classroom, they feel excitement and pride knowing that people care about their success.\r\n\r\nAs an RSP teacher, my goal is to create a learning environment that fosters both academic achievement and emotional well-being. The materials you helped fund allow me to differentiate instruction, implement sensory supports, and create engaging lessons that meet individual needs. They help transform small-group instruction into an interactive, supportive space where students feel safe to take risks and grow.\r\n\r\nYour generosity strengthens not only our classroom but also our broader school community. By investing in these resources, you are investing in students' confidence, independence, and long-term success. You are helping create opportunities for students to regulate their emotions, stay focused, practice foundational skills, and experience joy in learning.\r\n\r\nThank you for believing in our students. Thank you for recognizing the importance of specialized instruction and inclusive education. And thank you for partnering with us to create a classroom environment where every learner has the tools they need to thrive.","fullyFundedDate":1764736492065,"projectUrl":"project/diving-into-learning/9578633/","projectTitle":"Diving into Learning","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Wright","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-2_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9342763"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_31217","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":614,"numTeachers":35,"percentFrplEligible":44,"percentAsian":8,"percentBlack":7,"percentWhite":31,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":42,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"17.5:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":89.1,"schoolId":31217,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Susan La Vorgna Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Susan La Vorgna Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/california/temecula-valley-unified-school-district/susan-la-vorgna-elementary-school/31217"}
