I am a Reading Specialist and feel that my classroom library should be inviting to the students. The students love to go to the classroom library to complete their work and to read when they are finished early. I love to see their excitement when they have extra time for reading, and flip through new books. Currently, all I have is a rug and no comfortable seating for them. Making sure my students are comfortable is an essential component in motivating them. The seating options that I would like to add to my classroom will help students become more motivated to want to read. Some of my students don't find the joy in reading because it is a struggle for them, so I desire to give them an enticing area to read in. These chairs can also serve as an area students can complete their independent work in. Just by changing students' seating options it will engage and motivate them. The beanbag chairs will add to my classroom demeanor. A Reading classroom's focus should be the reading area and as of now, it is not appealing. I hope by adding a comfortable and cozy area for students to read in, it will add to their learning and willingness to want to read!
