The students were so excited to see the variety of yarn colors/materials, crochet hooks, and miscellaneous items that go into creating crochet projects. In the process of participating in the groups, the students have discussed interpersonal relationships, navigated academic stressors, and offered each other advice in a safe, confidential, and relaxing environment. One senior was able to make a bouquet of flowers for their friends while discussing with the group their pending transition out of high school. It also helped that there were snacks, which were again generously provided by the donors.\r\n\r\nWe received so much yarn from our donors that we will be able to continue running Cope with Crochet next school year. The groups are co-led with student leaders and we have already identified two rising seniors to lead these groups with the guidance department. These students initially joined our group without any crochet knowledge and have since grown into confident, generous, and thoughtful instructors.
