They will get them before testing starts. They love having a fidget and it is an incentive that really works for them to do their work.\r\n\r\nWe can't wait to air up the kickball. They did not have much background knowledge prior to countries around the world and they love to get them out to find places. They use them a lot when we mention different places. The daily geography is a big help in giving them something pretty easy to do that still gives them information that they need. They enjoy doing it now and are excited when it is in the rotation of their weekly work. The picture books have been read by a lot already individually, I have read a few to the class, and some of them take them to read to other classrooms as an incentive for those classes to do their work for the week. It is so hard for me to stay on top of getting papers sent home, but having a place to organize them makes it so much easier. I can put them in their slot as I put the grades in. Now I have my important papers all in a designated spot. Even though the students papers are there, I pass it out to them by calling them up and handing them their stack. I do not have to leave my classroom to scan something, I am able to send things I need printed directly to the printer without bringing the book and having to hold it-making bad copies. I am able to send notes students write or work to their parents or the office without having to take a picture, I am able to annotate notes to parents send it to them for them to finish if they forget a form or need help with it. It has made using workbooks for different academic levels of students so much easier. I always have pencils ready to go, the pencils aren't breaking, and if a student needs a pencil sharpened during class then they are able to grab one that is already sharpened so they are not having to get up and mess with the sharpener. I like that the sharpener stops when the pencil is ready so you don't have to keep pulling it in and out and accidentally breaking it from sharpening too much.
