In our classroom, we spend a large amount of time on the carpet in front of the interactive whiteboard for different activities and learning experiences. We begin each day there for community circle which allows students the opportunity to share their thoughts. Our mini-lessons/group instruction also usually take place in this area. Students work in groups and with partners utilizing dry erase boards or the interactive whiteboard while seated there. Student choice for independent reading is often the carpet area.
This partitioned rug will allow each student to have a learning space of his/her very own during instructional times. Students will be able to take responsibility and ownership of their space and yet be able to share with their peers around them. Our class would greatly appreciate your help in transforming our learning space!
