A few kids gasped when they saw the giant classpacks of crayons and colored pencils, and several immediately grabbed the Colors of the World crayons to find the one that matched their skin tone. For many of my students, having their own supplies is not something they are used to, so this felt really special. Seeing their excitement and pride made all the challenges of starting from scratch feel worth it.\r\n\r\nWe have been using the materials every single day. The chart paper and markers have helped me create anchor charts that cover our walls, and my students, especially my English learners, rely on these visuals to follow and understand lessons. One of our favorite projects so far has been tied to our upcoming Fresno Chaffee Zoo field trip. Each student chose a zoo animal, researched it, and wrote a Pensee poem with artwork to match. They also created colonial life tab booklets that connected history and art and completed hands-on science projects about States of Matter. Time wasn't wasted by waiting or borrowing. Everyone could just participate and share their ideas.\r\n\r\nThe organizational supplies like file folders, page protectors, binder rings, sticky notes, and tape have helped me get our classroom systems under control. Everything finally has a home, our routines run much smoother, and students can focus on learning instead of searching for materials. The confidence shift has been the biggest gift. Kids who usually hesitate or shut down are now diving into projects because they feel prepared and capable.\r\n\r\nBecause everyone had their own materials, they could fully participate and pour pride and creativity into their work. Thank you for helping my students feel capable, creative, and proud every single day. Your generosity has not just stocked our shelves; it has changed the way my students see themselves in the classroom. We are so incredibly grateful.","fullyFundedDate":1757541119404,"projectUrl":"project/learning-starts-with-the-basics/9694358/","projectTitle":"Learning Starts with the Basics","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Barajas","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10246618_orig.jpg?crop=480,480,x0,y80&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1757269006637","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/hbarajas"},{"teacherId":2011979,"projectId":9770057,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your contribution to my Holiday Project.
