The materials were all put to use immediately, and they have all been a big hit (pun intended) with my students! \r\n\r\nMy students' faces lit up with excitement when they saw our new drums and percussion equipment! They were even happy to see our new, colorful classroom rug. Besides adding a touch of color and fun to the classroom, the rug has provided a clear physical space for full-group music learning area, making classroom management easier for me, and seating expectations clearer for the kids. Our middle school students have been having a wonderful time with our bucket drums! We learned to play along with Thriller during the Halloween season, and are currently learning to play along with selections from The Nutcracker in celebration of the holiday season. Besides being great fun, the bucket drums have provided my students with an opportunity to work on their gross motor, listening, and coordination skills! My elementary students are enjoying our new gathering drum, hand drums, rhythm sticks, and jingle bells. We have used our drums in multiple lessons, imitating the footsteps of different animals in order to learn the difference between playing forte and piano (loud and soft, elephant vs. mouse) and Vivo and Lento (fast and slow, cheetah vs. turtle). The jingle bells have especially gotten a lot of use this month, as we practice playing a steady beat along to selections from the Nutcracker and other holiday classics.\r\n\r\nWe are looking forward to more fun lessons in the future with our new classroom supplies, such as movement activities with our speed rings, and creating our own rhythms and sound effects with our drums! My students and I appreciate your support and we wish you and yours a wonderful holiday season!","fullyFundedDate":1758805775741,"projectUrl":"project/move-to-the-beat-of-your-own-drum/9575004/","projectTitle":"Move to the Beat of Your Own Drum!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Elissa","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10169018_orig.jpg?crop=888,888,x0,y20&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1754933773252","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10169018"},{"teacherId":9326767,"projectId":8968764,"letterContent":"I am thrilled to share how your generosity has made a meaningful impact in our autism self-contained classroom!
