We utilize the games to assist with reading comprehension and math facts skills. When we began playing the games, such as the bingo especially. They were thrown back because they recognize that their parents played Dominios. They thought it was cool that they were able to play a game that their parents play at home Yet, they were being challenged with their multiplication skills. So they very thrilled to be able to play games and not have to write on paper. Also, the parts of speech bingo was the most challenging. It challenged them with remembering the parts of speech and to identify the key words in the sentence. It was nice to see them remembering what the parts of speech were and to see their little brains rolling to try and remember. This game took a little bit longer to play because some required help with reading. Due to this, this game was able to challenge them in their reading skills as well as require them to remember what the parts of speech were. My next steps with my students is to continue to challenge them with the dominos multiplication facts and the parts of speech bingo. I need to be sure I have winning prizes for everyone because they are very competitive.
