Every student has a story, some come from loving homes, learn easily and have had help along the way, but some have dealt with trauma, have hard home lives or don't have the tools to calm or self regulate. I am creating a calming room where kids can come to work out their problems, learn coping skills, and a room that will help them feel safe. Teaching emotional wellness helps these students become successful in school and in life. My students need a safe space to be able to decompress and refocus while setting goals and learning to make positive choices. The products I have chosen will help me give them the tools to deal with whatever comes their way. Some of the items are rewards for positive choices and reaching goals, while others are useful in teaching my students and making the environment more inviting. I have seen great progress with my students and these tools will help them to grow.
