We have a soft start to our day each morning where students are able to choose a morning tub to play. Each morning tub was created to support fine motor skill development and/or support academic skills in math and reading as well. The students were so excited to see the new fine motor materials in our morning tubs once I put them all out. They immediately were engaged in playing and using all of the items and have continued to engage with all the wonderful materials every day. \r\n\r\nI was especially pleased to see some students who had been a bit more reluctant in choosing a morning tub engage with our new items. One student in particular has gravitated towards the letter bots and uses those daily. They have supported his fine motor development as well as encouraging him to identify the letters of the alphabet. We don't have desks, we have tables. So we are keeping our materials in bins around the classroom which has created some clutter. These chair pouches are helping us stay clutter free and organized. \r\n\r\nWe are using the mail center to effectively communicate home and pass out homework folders. It is going to help us also keep track of what gets turned in throughout the week. \r\n\r\nMy students have not seen the materials yet because it came in right after they were dismissed for Thanksgiving break. However, they were told about the materials on the way and they couldn't me more thrilled.
