My students couldn't wait to see what was inside, and their faces lit up as we unboxed the new games and activities. Seeing them dive into hands-on play instead of asking for screens was a moment I won't soon forget.\r\n\r\nThe resources are already making a huge impact during our indoor recess. I've watched students huddle together to engage in deep conversations about the engineering and construction of massive marble towers. Others have been completely focused on the \"Kanoodle\" puzzles, working through trial and error to find solutions. For my students who need more movement to stay regulated, the \"Bop-It\" and ball-catching games have been a lifesaver, giving them a productive way to channel their energy. The \"Face Challenge\" game has also become a fast favorite, with students cheering each other on during friendly races.\r\n\r\nBeyond the fun, these materials are teaching my students essential life skills. Every day, I see them practicing turn-taking, navigating conflict resolution when a tower falls, and taking responsibility for cleaning up the small pieces. They are learning how to be great teammates and problem solvers. Our next step is to incorporate some of these logic games into our morning choice time to help wake up our brains for a day of learning!","fullyFundedDate":1762113691470,"projectUrl":"project/unplug-and-play-creating-engaging-indoo/9703240/","projectTitle":"Unplug and Play: Creating Engaging Indoor Recess Without Screens","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. McKinzie","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-9_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7637557"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_87155","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":390,"numTeachers":30,"percentFrplEligible":71,"percentAsian":2,"percentBlack":7,"percentWhite":46,"percentIndigenous":6,"percentLatinx":16,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","percentHawaiianImputed":0,"percentMultiracialImputed":20,"gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"13.0:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"TOWN","ncesMetroType":"TOWN_DISTANT"},"inStateSupporters":72.1,"schoolId":87155,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Skyline Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Skyline Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/oklahoma/stillwater-public-schools/skyline-elementary-school/87155"}
