A missing magnetic letter, a marker that has dried out, or a student searching through a bin for the materials they need may seem small, but when this happens repeatedly, precious learning time is lost. With these new materials, we can change that.\r\nEach student will have their own whiteboard, marker, and eraser, allowing every child to actively participate during lessons. Instead of waiting for materials or sharing supplies, students can immediately show their thinking, practice new skills, and receive feedback. This gives every child a voice and an opportunity to be an active participant in learning.\r\nThe student pouches will be especially valuable during our UFLI Foundations literacy instruction. Students will be able to keep their magnetic letters and phonics materials together in one place. Rather than searching through bins for the letters they need to build words and practice sounds, students can quickly access their own materials and get right to work. That means more time spent practicing the skills that are so important to becoming successful readers.\r\nWe will also use pouches to organize our math materials and manipulatives. Students will know exactly where their materials belong and where to find them when they need them. This will not only save instructional time, but it will also teach our kindergarteners an important life skill—how to take responsibility for their belongings and their learning.\r\nPerhaps the greatest impact will be the independence these materials provide. I want my students to walk into our classroom knowing, \"I have what I need. I know where it is. I am ready to learn.\" These simple organizational systems help make that possible.\r\nAs a teacher, I am constantly looking for ways to make every minute of our school day count.
