My 9th graders are at an age where they are growing fast and perpetually hungry, yet many of them face the reality of food instability. Before this project was funded, I saw many students trying to power through their most difficult morning lessons on an empty stomach.\r\n\r\nSince the snacks arrived, the atmosphere in my room has changed. It has become a safe space where students know they can grab a breakfast bar for their first block or tuck a snack into their bag for lunch. I no longer see that \"mid-morning slump\" where students put their heads down because they lack the glucose to keep going. Instead, they are alert, participating, and—most importantly—focused on their work rather than their hunger.\r\n\r\nYour generosity has removed a major barrier to equity in our building.
