ESCAPE is the point of some literature, and Jane Austen's literature is among the best for achieving that goal. Our Pride and Prejudice Day gives students an opportunity to immerse themselves in the world of Jane Austen's England for several hours. The students watch sections from the Pride and Prejudice miniseries, they play trivia games and learn a Regency Country Dance. They act out skits, wear costumes, and generally get to be silly. The prizes, some academic, some not, are a way to help the students remember this marvelous book - Pride and Prejudice - and the fun we had exploring another time and place.
