Your thoughtful support has made a meaningful difference in our students' daily learning and play. The art supplies, especially the whiteboard markers, have brought new energy to our lessons. Students are excited to solve problems, share ideas, and practice new skills on the whiteboard, making learning more interactive and engaging every day.\r\n\r\nThe jump ropes have been an incredible addition to our classroom and recess activities. Seeing the smiles, laughter, and excitement as students practice new tricks, encourage one another, and stay active has been truly heartwarming. These experiences help build confidence, teamwork, and healthy habits while creating joyful memories with their classmates. Your generosity has filled our classroom with creativity, movement, and happiness, and we are deeply grateful for your support. With your help, we have been able to introduce some exciting new play-based learning activities, keep our classroom clean, and create adaptive materials for our preschoolers with disabilities.\r\n\r\nI wish I was allowed by our school to share photos of student faces- I set out activities before they arrive, and each time they encountered new materials, they were so excited! I especially want to highlight the students' favorite-The alphabet and number stickers were definitely a favorite and got incorporated into a wide variety of activities since they didn't stick so hard that we couldn't reuse them a few times. We practiced counting, spelling words, matching during the alphabet song, working together and sharing, and writing our names with these and they added a lot of fun and excitement!","fullyFundedDate":1772546743975,"projectUrl":"project/bridge-the-resource-gap-for-little-learn/9898042/","projectTitle":"Bridge The Resource Gap for Little Learners With Disabilities","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Anna","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-10_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10068878"},{"teacherId":10186937,"projectId":9619757,"letterContent":"The new materials have become part of our daily routines and play‑based learning. Preschoolers learn best through hands‑on exploration, so we've been using the resources during centers, small‑group activities, and whole‑class projects. They proudly shared their books with peers, practicing language skills and building confidence.\r\nWhen the materials first arrived, the children were absolutely glowing with excitement.\r\nThey immediately wanted to touch, explore, and try everything. For many of them, having brand‑new, high‑quality materials felt special—and they treated them with so much care and joy.\r\nWe're now moving into a project where students will explore springtime activities, colors, shapes, and patterns in the world around them. The new resources will help them strengthen early language development while keeping learning playful and meaningful. Over the next few weeks, they'll use the materials to explore weather patterns and animal ecosystems and build structures that show their growing understanding of the world.","fullyFundedDate":1766906397404,"projectUrl":"project/preschool-library/9619757/","projectTitle":"Preschool Library","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Lily","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-9_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10186937"},{"teacherId":10237067,"projectId":9846627,"letterContent":"The lunch time inclusion activities have been very beneficial for students at our elementary school.Starting with the\\ K-2nd graders. These students come in to play with legos,puzzles or do arts, crafts or cooking together. They've been able to request the correct amount of points for each project and have added their final points after completing an activity.\r\n For the 4th-5th graders, they really enjoy the Connect 4, Uno and Operation games. \r\nThe Connect 4 requires 2 rounds so they have to keep trying even if they think that they are not \"good at games\". The Uno game has 1/2 of the cards so that they easily can complete a 2-3 rounds during their lunch time recess. With regard to the Operation Game,(of which I thought would be too difficult to engage in) has turned out to be their favorite game. One student is the \"Doctor\" or \"Specialist\" and the other is the \"Banker\". Their learning the anatomy of the body while learning to read, at the same time.\r\n The 6th graders come into play \"Table Soccer\", \"21\", \"Uno\", cook, or do arts and crafts. Weaving friendship bracelets and cooking are popular activities with the 6th grade girls . The 6th grade boys like the table games. All students really enjoy shopping at the Student Store, where they can buy personal items like fingernail dryers, a rain poncho, school supplies or healthy snacks. Some students buy a jellybean from the Gumball machine in hopes to get the \"red jellybean\" that allows for a chance at the Claw Machine or a spin on the Prize Wheel.\r\n We have thoroughly enjoyed our Lunch Time Inclusion Activities and hope to continue for the coming years. The next steps to improve our activities, would be to expand the store selection of store items to include various items for family members, including pets. In addition, we will try using play money instead of points, so that all students will learn to calculate change. The purchase or donation of large calculators would also be beneficial as to allow for the purchasing of items faster and more efficient.\r\n On behalf of the students at Lairon CPA, extend our heartfelt gratitude and thanks for your donations. The Lunch Time Inclusion activities have encouraged all students to try their best to complete a task, while gaining the support and friendship of their peers. Students are in unity and the division of learning abilities has been all but extinguished in and outside of our classroom.\r\nThank you again.","fullyFundedDate":1762563093441,"projectUrl":"project/lunch-time-inclusion-activities-engage-a/9846627/","projectTitle":"Lunch Time Inclusion Activities Engage All Students","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Thomas","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10237067_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1756803279978","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10237067"},{"teacherId":10068878,"projectId":9442683,"letterContent":"What a joy it was to hand each child a cheerful backpack overflowing with school supplies to take home! The looks on their faces when they saw them were priceless; unfortunately my hands were so full that I couldn't catch that glimmer but their eyes lit up, the smiles were wide, and I even heard some words from my minimally speaking little friends. \"Backpack!\" they exclaimed! \"Mine?\" one asked in disbelief. \"Water!\" one girl cried with joy (she's wanted a water bottle like her friend's the whole year.) \"Wow! Blue,\" said another. The parents were very grateful and eager to take home the supplies as well.\r\n\r\nSince the students took home their school supplies, I know they are practicing at home because their skill levels have improved faster than I would have expected for just the amount we practice at school. They are also more excited to do these activities since they are very familiar and most of our special education students prefer to do repetitive familiar activities.","fullyFundedDate":1753385444853,"projectUrl":"project/disability-pride-month-empower-families/9442683/","projectTitle":"Disability Pride Month: Empower Families To Learn With Supply Backpacks","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Anna","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-10_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10068878"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_4786","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":380,"numTeachers":17,"percentFrplEligible":66,"percentAsian":11,"percentBlack":3,"percentWhite":0,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":85,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","percentHawaiianImputed":0,"percentMultiracialImputed":0,"gradesServed":"4 - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"22.4:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":75.6,"schoolId":4786,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Lairon College Preparatory Academy on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Lairon College Preparatory Academy","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/california/franklin-mckinley-school-district/seven-trees-elementary-school/4786"}
