My students are already putting them to good use, and they have made our library feel more inviting, colorful, and exciting. We now have a dinosaur-shaped shelf, a spinning shelf, window shelves that attach with suction cups, and magnetic shelves that allow us to display books in new and creative ways. When the students first saw everything, their reactions were priceless! They immediately wanted to explore the new shelves, find out what the dinosaur was for, and see which books were on display. The new shelves have turned book displays into something students actively notice and talk about.\r\n\r\nOne of my favorite moments has been watching students interact with the shelves while choosing their next book. Instead of simply walking past a traditional bookcase, they stop to look at the books displayed at their eye level and often recommend books to their friends. The spinning shelf has become a fun way for students to browse, while the window and magnetic shelves allow me to highlight books connected to the lessons and themes we are exploring. These resources are helping me create a library where books are not just stored—they are displayed, discovered, and celebrated!\r\n\r\nOur next steps are to continue using these new displays to support our current library lessons and encourage students to become more independent, enthusiastic readers. As we move through the school year, I will rotate books on the shelves to connect with different genres, holidays, lessons, and student interests. I am especially excited to use the shelves to introduce students to books they might not otherwise notice and to encourage them to take chances on new authors, topics, and genres. Thank you for helping make our library a place where students can grow as readers, grow as learners, and grow as individuals. Your donation has made all the difference! We have not been able to use everything that your contribution purchased, but we will before the school year is over.\r\n\r\nYour donation the laminator and lamination pouches was used to prepare my students' daily sound cards. I also used the laminator for my larger teacher cards on my board during group. With the thick lamination, these cards can withstand lots of manipulating for years to come. The supply cart helps me organize student work for the week and keeps our materials in one place. This really helps to make sure we make the most of our entire group time. \r\n\r\nThe stools have been a big hit! They love the colorful seats and how the stools place students at the correct height for our proper writing position. The student chapter books will be used daily once my students reach that place in our curriculum, which will be around the winter holidays. \r\n\r\nOnce again, I am so thankful for your support of my classroom, me and my students.","fullyFundedDate":1779371041940,"projectUrl":"project/help-students-take-flight/10272144/","projectTitle":"Help Students Take Flight!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Arens","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8542156_orig.jpg?crop=955,954,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1669218704704","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8542156"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_48413","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":478,"numTeachers":33,"percentFrplEligible":29,"percentAsian":6,"percentBlack":3,"percentWhite":61,"percentIndigenous":4,"percentLatinx":8,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","percentHawaiianImputed":1,"percentMultiracialImputed":14,"gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"14.5:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"TOWN","ncesMetroType":"TOWN_DISTANT"},"inStateSupporters":71.7,"schoolId":48413,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Sangre Ridge Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Sangre Ridge Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/oklahoma/stillwater-public-schools/sangre-ridge-elementary-school/48413"}
