Since receiving the instruments, our younger students are much more eager to come to music class and ask every time can we use the instruments. They have used them to play songs, create rhythm patterns, and perform for their peers. I have documented growth in able to see the younger kids hold the mallets correctly, play with two hands using much more hand and eye coordination, and become more of an independent musician. They don't strain anymore to get on their tip toes to play them anymore either as they can hold these easily in their lap or in front of them. They also add flare and color to the music room as well. I hope to get more in the future. \r\n\r\nI use this proverb in my teaching since getting my orff level 1 & 2 training. \"Tell me and I'll forget; show me and I may remember; involve me and I'll understand.\" Carl Orff I encourage all educator's to use this proverb in their daily teaching.
