They are made to last, and it is my hope that the students and families will save these for years to come. Our students use Chromebooks daily to access curriculum and complete digital assignments. Having mice allows our students to easily access their online platforms and assignments, which increases instructional time and learning.\r\n\r\nPart of our math program requires completing a digital cool down activity at the end of each lesson, which asks the students to show their work on a digital white board. Students had a much easier time completing this with the help of a mouse. Students are most excited about using the mice to easily scroll down a page to see the entire document. Having access to mice made accessing state testing much easier which allowed students to focus on content and showing their knowledge. \r\n\r\nSince we work together as a grade level team, this gift is used daily by every fifth grade student at our school. There are emotion books to read, an emotion mirror to reflect, and fidgets to refocus. Having headphones for every student to use has significantly impacted the accessibility that students have to technology and curriculum. \r\n\r\nStudents use these headphones to daily access their iReady, which is a program that trailers lessons to their individual needs. This allows students to have lessons directly targeting their learning. In reading, our students are thrilled to be able to have headphones to access audio books. Although all students enjoy using the audio book feature, having access to this support has especially benefited our kids who struggle with reading and have learning disabilities related to reading. Students are excited to be able to listen to calming music on their devices using their headphones while working to help them focus.\r\n\r\nIn the upcoming month, students will be starting state testing. Every students will be using these headphones to access their tests. I also use them for partner work so students can sit at one desk and work together. Pulling a bulky chair was a safety hazard, as well as time management issue. With your donations, this tool has allowed students to complete larger pieces of artwork and all have a place to safely keep it. The moveable shelves give students easy access to storing their work. The wheels allow us flexibility on where it is stored. \r\n\r\nOur 5th graders look forward to using this incredible gift as they continue to express themselves creatively through their art this year.
