My students have been so excited each time we receive a new package. They anxiously await to see what books we've ordered and have a sign ups for who can have some of the new books first. \r\nSome of the favorites have definitely been the Harry Potter Illustrated editions. All students want to look at the beautiful artwork and read. They have also sincerely loved all the Babysitters Club Graphic Novels. They are always trading with each other when someone finishes a copy so another person can read it. \r\nNathan Hale's Hazardous Tales have become some of my students favorites. They are especially loving the new book about WWI and have many questions for me concerning that time period. It's so fun watching them learn to love book and love to explore the world of reading. The kids have been so excited to read them. We have been reading Edward Tulane as our read-aloud, and they always want to know what happens next. Our students have been reading the graphic novels and have been taking turns with them because so many of the kids want to read them. We have quiet reading time every day, and it is one of the highlights of their school day! We are so appreciative and the books are being put to great use. I have been able to get the kids excited about reading, and it doesn't feel like a chore; it feels like a reward to them. My student have LOVED all our new materials and we use them all almost every day! Their absolute favorite are all the pillows and flexible seating options they have. It is the perfect spot to keep all our papers and they keep our classroom so neat and organized. Our pencil sharpener is used constantly and I have never had a more predictable and useful sharpener in my room!
